Work on the distribution of Rock Pipit, Anthus spinoletta, territories around the island of Cumbrae, Strathclyde was truncated into the Note in BB, culminating in an estimate of the British and Irish population of about 84,000 breeding pairs. The 2013 BTO National Atlas does not offer a population estimate but an RSPB website suggests a UK population of 34,000 pairs. |
